Town Appointments

The Snow Hill Town Council extends an invitation to its citizens to apply for appointments to one of the following commissions, boards or committees.

Planning Board: The Planning Board reviews Snow Hill’s new commercial and residential development projects, oversees town plans, zoning and subdivision regulations.

Recreation Commission: Oversees playgrounds, the South Greene Ball Field, and an expanding parks and recreation program.

Board of Adjustment: This quasi-judicial board has authority to decide zoning appeals, variances, and certain development permits.

Neighborhood Affairs: This committee inspired Snow Hill entrance signs and flags, and the Discover Snow Hill banners. This year the committee will develop a citizen’s academy as part of an effort to expand knowledge of Snow Hill residents of the town’s functions.

Historic Preservation Commission: The National Register Historic District walking tour and brochure and historic building recognition plaques. The Commission offers technical advise and assists property owners market their historic properties.

Snow Hill Tomorrow Committee: This committee is developing recommendations and strategies to guide the town’s future growth.

Tree Board: Provides guidance to the Town’s tree planting and tree care programs

Development Commission: Provides guidance to the Town in area of economic and community development efforts.
