The Public Works & Utilities Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of drinking water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, street and sidewalk maintenance, cemetery operation, solid waste and yard waste collection, parks, and general landscaping of town owned properties.

Solid waste and recyclable materials are collected through a contract with Onslow Container Service on Mondays.

Yard Waste is collected by Town staff on Tuesdays with the following restrictions:
Loose debris must be in a container or sheet; larger debris such as limbs should be no larger than 4” in diameter and no more than 9’ long.

Arrangements can be made to have other items such as furniture and appliances removed by appointment for a nominal fee. Please call 747-3414 to arrange for this service.
