2. Ms. Betty Jean Jackson has filed an application to be considered for appointment as an at-large member of the Neighborhood Affairs Committee

3. Capital Improvements Plan update

4. A request from Greene County to consider closing Court Street for the Justice Center Project

5. A voluntary annexation petition from Greene County to annex the former Paxar properties

6. Greene County Board of Commissioners voted to approve $25,000 PARTF 2007 matching funds in support of the Community Center recreation project

7. Membership in the North Carolina Citizens for Business & Industry (NCCBI)

c. Finance Officer:

1. Consider a Master Card and Visa credit/debit card swipe and check reader customer service through Wachovia for processing payments with purchase of integrated credit, debit and check imager/reader terminal and printer. A town service fee of $1.00 per transaction is recommended.

3. Consider project budget ordinance for the Rural Center Reuse Grant (Tide Tamer and Worth Products)

d. Revenue Collector:

Consider releasing $123.20 of 2006 town taxes for property at 201 W. Harper St requested by Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Sylivant due to property renovations only being 55% complete as of January 1, 2006. Greene County approved a Value Release of $32,420.00 on September 18, 2006.

a. Consider re-appointing Robert E. Masters, Jr. as the town’s representative to the Greene County Economic Development Commission.

b. Consider appointing Betty Jean Jackson as at-large member of the Neighborhood Affairs Committee

c. Consider setting a public hearing for 7:30 p.m. January 9, 2007 to consider closing Court Street as requested by Greene County for the Justice Center Project

d. Direct the Town Clerk to investigate a voluntary annexation petition dated November 6, 2006 received from Greene County for Tracts A, B, C & D as recorded on map entitled “County of Greene” in Map Book 28, Page 64 of the Greene County Register of Deeds (the former Paxar properties)

e. Consider authorizing the Mayor to solicit the interest of other Greene County communities in Greene County in sharing a $440 annual membership in the NC Citizens for Business & Industry

f. Consider authorizing the Finance Officer to purchase a Master Card and Visa credit/debit card swipe and check reader customer service through Wachovia for processing payments with purchase of integrated credit, debit and check imager/reader terminal and printer.
