Snow Hill Mayor Don Davis issued the following statement:
“I was extremely saddened to learn of Lacey Jones’ death. Lacey was very courageous and special to us. She became a part of all of our households and churches. Lacey brought our community together. She brought us together in so many ways including through prayer, and sharing the best of ourselves with her. Lacey’s life was truly a vessel of hope.
My heartfelt condolence is expressed to her family. In support of her family and in honor of Lacey, we are now challenged to allow the best of our community to continue revealing itself. My prayer is for comfort to her family. I am hopeful that we will see Lacey again one day. Godspeed, Lacey.”
